Why this matters
Being findable is the cheapest growth available to a small business, and the one most owners put off. A page you control is where customers confirm you are real before they call, and where a lender, a buyer or a prime contractor looks first. Without one, you are relying on people already knowing your name.
You do not need a big site. One page that loads on a phone, says what you do, and shows how to reach you does the work.
Before you start
Write the words before you open any builder. Almost nobody stalls on the technology. They stall on the blank page. Have these typed out somewhere first:
- Your business name, exactly as you want it known
- One sentence on what you sell and who it is for
- Where you are, or the area you serve
- Hours, a phone number, and an email you actually check
- Three to five real photos: your work, your premises, your team
Photos taken on a phone are fine. Stock images of other people’s work are not.
The rest of this step is for LAEDC clients
The steps themselves, the questions worth asking Pathfinder, where to send your document, and who to call when you get stuck. An account is free, it keeps your progress, and it connects you to an advisor who works with businesses like yours.
