A prepared package that is never submitted is the most common ending to this whole domain. The work is done, the folder is ready, and the application sits there because submitting means a decision, and a decision means a possible no. Meanwhile deadlines pass quietly.

It is worth knowing the shape of the odds before you decide. Funding is a numbers exercise as well as a merit one. Businesses that secure capital have usually applied more than once, often to more than one source, and the second application is far cheaper to produce than the first because the folder already exists.

You submit this yourself. LAEDC does not submit applications on behalf of businesses, and no one at BGC will ever ask for your login or sign anything for you. We will review your package, tell you plainly what a reviewer will think, and help you fix it. The submit button is yours.

• Every required document present, correctly named, and the right year
• Numbers identical everywhere they appear. Revenue in the narrative matching revenue on the statements matching revenue on the return
• Every field on the form completed, including the ones that do not apply, marked N/A rather than left blank
• Signatures and dates where required, including the ones on page nine
• File formats and size limits as specified by the portal
• The deadline, including the time of day and the time zone
