The Member Agreement

Why we're here

LAEDC is convening consortiums to help our corridors grow: bringing new businesses in, keeping the ones already here, and helping them expand. Community stakeholders set each corridor's vision. Consortium members work together to design the solutions that bring that vision to life.

Our shared hope

Over time, we hope members will help bring resources together, such as capital, sites, contracts, training and policy support, that make the corridor a place businesses choose to open, stay and grow. This agreement is the first step toward that work. It does not commit you or your organization to provide any resources.

As a member, I agree to

  1. Take part in my consortium's working group, about 90 minutes a month virtually, and quarterly in-person convenings.
  2. Share my expertise, perspective and relationships to help design solutions for the corridor.
  3. Help connect the working group to the people and information it needs.
  4. Let LAEDC know if I need to send a colleague in my place or step back.

What this agreement does not do

  • It does not commit me or my organization to provide funding, staff, property, contracts or any other resources.
  • It does not create any financial obligation for me, my organization or LAEDC.
  • It does not require my organization's leadership or board approval, unless my organization chooses to require it.

Bringing resources later

As my consortium designs solutions, my organization may choose to support one or more of them with a resource it manages. Any such commitment will be voluntary, tied to a specific solution, made through my organization's own approval process, and written up in a separate MOU with LAEDC.

LAEDC agrees to

  1. Convene and facilitate each working group, with agendas shared in advance.
  2. Share corridor research and community vision findings with members.
  3. Track and report progress, from dollars deployed to businesses opened and jobs filled.
  4. Credit each member's contributions publicly and in materials members can share with their own boards.

Term

This agreement runs 6 months from signing, through June 30, 2027, with the option to renew next fiscal year. I can step back at any time by letting LAEDC know in writing; an email is enough.

LAEDC will confirm membership by December 9, so each consortium has the right mix of partners.

This agreement is a statement of my intent to participate. It is not a contract and creates no legal or financial obligation for either party.
