Leveraged resources secured — amount and source recorded

How this closesHand in your document — A member of the team confirms the figure on it before this closes, because it goes into funder reporting. We never file or submit anything for you.

Why this matters

Leveraged resources are everything of value you brought to the table that was not cash from the programme funding you. Match funding, donated space, discounted professional help, partner contributions, equipment lent rather than bought, hours given by people who were not paid for them.

Recording it matters for two reasons. It is often a condition of the funding you already have, and it is the number that decides whether that funding continues. A programme that can show a dollar of public money pulled in two more is a programme that gets renewed, and the businesses in it benefit from that renewal.

Before you start

Understand the distinction that catches people. Leveraged resources are not your ordinary operating costs. Your rent is not leverage. Space a partner gave you free, or at a discount, for a specific purpose, is.

Every figure needs a basis. A number you cannot explain is a number that gets removed in a review, and an inflated one damages trust for everyone in the programme. Conservative and documented beats generous and unsupported.
