Required insurance coverage obtained and documented
How this closesHand in your document — Submitting it closes this step. We keep a copy for your record — we never file or submit anything for you.
Why this matters
Insurance is what a landlord, a lender, a prime contractor and a public buyer all ask for before they will work with you.
California requires workers compensation coverage of every employer with even one employee. The Department of Industrial Relations states that employers without coverage or approved self-insurance can be subject to significant criminal and civil penalties.
General liability is not legally required for most businesses, but it is contractually required by almost everyone worth contracting with.
Before you start
Have your entity documents, a description of what you do, payroll figures if you have employees, and your revenue.
Get more than one quote. Premiums for the same coverage vary widely.
The rest of this step is for LAEDC clients
